The Council of the Town of Norman Wells wishes to promote and recognize the efforts of volunteers with the community by granting a "Citizen of the Year" award to a deserving individual. Regular Meetings of Council are the first Tuesday of the month, 7 p.m., Council Chambers. Committee of the Whole (C.O.W.) meets the third Tuesday of the month. Requests to appear before Council as a delegation should be made to the Town Manager no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday preceding a regularly scheduled Council meeting.

The Council of the Town of Norman Wells met Tuesday, May 24, 2011 and approved the following resolution:
‘Be it resolved that the Council of the Town of Norman Wells hereby terminates their role as the energy provider for the Town of Norman Wells effective June 30, 2014; and further that the Town plans to do everything possible within their financial ability to help residents and businesses convert to an alternate energy.’
